Riads (ryads) or traditional houses in Marrakesh are mostly located in the medina or old city.

Inside the walls which conceal from the street, one discovers the ground floor patio, hosting a garden or even trees and a fountain or a pond, or a small pool if space is sufficient.
The court is surrounded by columns supporting the galleries upstairs where suites or the main rooms are located. The roof terrace is an essential part of the charm of the riad, with its superb view over the Atlas Mountains, and the roofs of the old city.

These authentic houses have been restored respecting the elements of traditional architecture and materials. There is thus zelliges (Enamelled terracotta tiles) of tadelakt (stucco), doors of carved cedar wood, wrought iron windows, ....

Europeans use these riads as a secondary home or have transformed them into guest houses, and share with their guests the passion for the Moroccan tradition and culture.
