Property tax in Panama

The buyer of a property in Panama will be liable for the payment of lawyer charges and notary fees, for an average of 2% of the selling price.
The owner of the property will have to pay for transfer fees (2%) as well as agency fees (3% à 5%) If applicable.

Capital gain taxes in case of resale

The capital gain (for a resale not being part of a commercial activity) is taxed at lowered 10% rate.

Rental income tax

In Panama, there is no income tax on revenues coming from outside Panama (total exemption, including pensions). Non-residents will be required to pay income tax for their revenues of Panamean origin.
Rental income will be included in revenues assessed for income tax.

These revenues, minored with some deductions, are entitled to (in US Dollars):
- inferior to 9 000 USD : 0 %
- from 9 000 à 10 000 USD : 7,3 %
- from 10 000 à 15 000 USD : 16,5% %
- from 15 000 à 20 000 USD : 19 %
- from 20 000 à 30 000 USD : 22 %
- superior to 30 000 USD : 27 %
